What is LiGUARD R-10?

LiGUARD R-10 is a heat-activated aerosol fire suppression device designed for local protection of enclosed electrical and technological cabinets. It is a passive autonomous module that activates without any external power supply.

The device is not a portable fire extinguisher according to EN 3 and does not replace building-level fixed fire suppression systems.

What is the purpose of the device?

How does LiGUARD R-10 operate?

When the activation temperature of approximately 170 °C is exceeded, the device automatically releases an aerosol into the protected enclosure. The aerosol interferes with the combustion process and reduces temperature.

The device operates without pressurised vessels and contains no electronics.

Does the device require electrical power?

No. The device is fully autonomous and activated solely by temperature.

In what environments may R-10 be used?

The device is intended exclusively for enclosed spaces such as:

• low-voltage and DC distribution cabinets

• circuit breaker panels

• UPS enclosures

• battery boxes installed inside cabinets

• control and automation panels

It is not intended for open areas or for protecting entire rooms.

What cabinet size can one module protect?

The protected volume depends on cabinet construction, sealing, and ventilation. For larger or ventilated cabinets, professional system design and the use of multiple modules are recommended.

How is the device installed?

The module must be fixed inside the protected enclosure in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. The aerosol outlet must not be obstructed and a free clearance zone must be maintained in front of the discharge port.

Installation by a qualified person is recommended.

Is the device maintenance-free?

The device does not require active servicing. Visual inspection during routine cabinet inspections and verification of manufacturing date and service life are recommended.

What is the service life?

The nominal service life is 10 years from the manufacturing date or until activation, whichever occurs first.

What actions are required after activation?

After discharge, the device is no longer functional and must be replaced. Inspection and cleaning of the protected enclosure by qualified personnel is recommended before re-energising equipment.

Does the aerosol damage electronics?

The aerosol agent is designed for use in electrical enclosures. After discharge, professional cleaning of the cabinet is recommended.

The device has been tested in accordance with:

• EN 15276-1:2019

and is included in an EC Declaration of Conformity under Directive:
